Perched atop Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, you’ll find the well-known Griffith Observatory. As the most-visited public observatory on the planet, this building is home to a planetarium, exhibits, and countless telescopes where visitors can catch a glimpse of the stars. While the observatory itself is impressive, the views from this high up are truly spectacular. Whenever I’m up here, I feel as if I’m in an airplane, taking in the sights of downtown Los Angeles below. From this vantage point, there are panoramic views that range from the Hollywood Signto the Pacific Ocean, and seeing Griffith Observatory at nightgives me a new perspective of this fantastic city. The Los Angeles skyline imageslight up the night sky, and I can see streetlights, car lights, and building lights extend far beyond the horizon. The downtown buildings rise above the homes and businesses that surround this beautiful cityscape.
Millions of adventurers and athletes trek to Lake Tahoe each year to hike the rugged terrain, challenge their bodies, and experience breathtaking views. As the largest alpine lake on the continent, Lake Tahoe sits on the borders of California and Nevada, amidst the Sierra Nevada mountain range. I often hike long distances to get the shot that I’m looking for, and this photo was no different. What I truly love about Lake Tahoe is that there is a nonstop flow of awe-inspiring views, so I had no problem exploring the terrain and experiencing all the beauty of this region.

Touring the Grand Canyon can be overwhelming. The size, the beauty, the history all collide to create beautiful rock formations that existed for millions of years. Standing on the precipice of this geological feature leaves me feeling humbled, amazed, and grateful for the opportunity to view such a magnificent sight.
It’s called the city that never sleeps, and it’s easy to see why. Downtown New York City bustles with activity, even in the darkness of night. The buildings and streetlights illuminate the skyline, emitting a beautiful glow that extends well into the dark sky. You can see the beautiful Chrysler Building off in the distance, the bridge heading out of Manhattan off to the left.
There’s nothing more magical than witnessing a beautiful sunset, watching the colors become more vivid and vibrant as the sun descends upon the horizon, casting beautiful hues upon the landscape below. The beauty of a sunset is even more dramatic when those breathtaking colors fall upon the iconic Santa Monica Pier.
The brilliant yellow colors reflect off the impressive Ferris wheel, bouncing off the bright colors of the amusement park attractions. As I sit here off the coast, gazing at the bustling pier, I can’t help but feel at peace.
It's easy to whip out your smart phone to take a photo of a sunset—I don't blame anyone for being compelled to capture a piece of beauty. But snapping this view? It's not quite a simple task.
This Lake Tahoe landscape has felt many gazing eyes; tourists come from all around the world to get a glimpse. People typically hop on a tour bus around noon to witness this marvelous sight. However, there's a drastic difference between visiting at lunch time and visiting during sunrise or sunset. At 12 o'clock, sunlight is harsh, shadows are strong, and the sky is dreary. Still, many wonder why they don't come across majestic skies. My secret? Sacrifice and patience.
Photography is defined as “the art or practice of taking and processing photographs,” but to me, it means so much more. Years of traveling to the United States, Europe, and Latin America have blessed me with photographs so surreal. There’s plenty behind taking a picture that most people wouldn’t think of: the location scouting, the wait for perfect lighting, and more. Photography is challenging, but I love it all.
